When California Closets went to Hearst Custom Publishing with a desire to create a product that would assist in the rebranding of the company for a more upscale demographic, Hearst turned to us. The result was Hush magazine, an elegant journal devoted to the joys of simplicity and organization—not only as those concepts are applied to closets but also as they pertain to life in general. The magazine was a clear precursor to what would become a national movement towards simplicity as an enviable means to cope with the stress of today's complex and demanding lifestyles. It also positioned California Closets as a company that understood those issues and offered elegant solutions.
